Rockingham Forge supports Star Chef Competition at Halesowen College
On Monday 14th June, Grunwerg brand ambassador Kieron Murphy attended the Star Chef Competition 2021 at Halesowen College in Birmingham, to judge the final dishes presented by the Level 2 Catering Students. The talented finalists had 3 hours to prepare and cook their chosen dessert before presenting to the judges. Although everyone performed to an excellent standard, there could only be one winner. Congratulations to Alex Williams who wowed the judges with his Vanilla Panna Cotta with Raspberry Sorbet and Pistachio Truffles to become Star Chef of 2021. Alex said ”I am really happy to have been given the chance to take part and winning the competition has helped to build my confidence alongside winning some excellent prizes. I’m very much looking forward to spending the day with Olivier Briault at Jacques of Knowle.” The prize included a stunning 3-piece knife set from our Rockingham Forge – Equilibrium Collection, which was presented to Alex by Grunwerg brand ambassador and guest judge, Kieron Murphy. Other guest judges included former Master Chef contestant Stuart Deeley, who now heads his own professional Chef Academy at the Halesowen College, and Olivier Briault from Jacques of Knowle Earlier this year, Grunwerg proudly supported Stuart Deeley in the opening of his brand new state-of-the-art Stuart Deeley’s Professional Chef Academy at Halesowen College.
